Saving information about your visit

We use features on our website that save information about your visit. Some of the functions transfer data or information to other services. Find out what information they save, and what agreements we have to protect your information.

This web page has been machine translated. If there are any uncertainties, please refer to the Swedish text.

We're transparent about how we handle and protect our visitors' digital privacy.

That's why we desicribe in detail the functions on the website that save information about your visit. We work with this continuously, and therefore we update the page regularly.

As a visitor, you can update your privacy settings at any time.

The cookie and privacy function

When you've decided on your privacy settings, we save a cookie. It only contains a number between 0 and 3 and indicates which privacy level you have selected. The cookie disappears after three months.

  • _vinnova_gdpr

If you have chosen to limit which services and functions we may run, you'll get a reminder of this every two months. We place a cookie for this:

  • _vinnova_not_show_information_text_low_gdpr_level

Filter selection in search functions

On many of our search pages, you can filter and sort search results so that you can control what information you see. Your choices are stored in these cookies:

  • _vinnova_aoSearchViewCookie
  • _vinnova_aoSearchOrderByCookie but the information is not sent anywhere else.

Temporary filter selections in search functions

We set a temporary session cookie during your visit to keep track of which filter selections you have made on a search page, for example how you sort your results. The cookie is removed as soon as you close the browser:

  • ASP.NET_SessionId

Quick selection for visited pages

If you have visited specific pages, we list the last three visited pages on the home page, so that you can more easily find your way back to them. This selection is stored in a cookie and deleted after one year:

  • _vinnova_visited_micro_pages

If you have visited our calls, we list the three most recently visited, so that you can more easily find your way back to them. The selection is stored in the cookie:

  • _vinnova_visited_ao_pages and deleted after one year.

Map services via Google Maps

We use Google Maps as an additional service on certain calendar pages. Because the service is displayed via an iframe, it cannot collect information about your visit. But when Google Maps is used, Google can, among other things, get information about your position.

If you have chosen to limit services on the website, we will not show Google Maps directly on the page. Instead, we show a link where you can open Google Maps in a separate tab and decide for yourself if you want to use the service. In this way, a visit at vinnova.se will not lead to any information being collected.

Video views via Youtube

We use Youtube to view video. Because the service is displayed via an iframe, it cannot collect information about your visit. But when using YouTube, Google can, among other things, get information on how you interact with the video player and it may be able to see where you are.

If you have chosen to restrict services on the website, we will not display YouTube directly on the page. Instead, we show a link where you can open the video in a separate tab and you can decide for yourself if you want to use the service. In this way, a visit at vinnova.se will not lead to any information being collected.

Podcast via Libsyn

When you listen to a podcast on vinnova.se, information is retrieved from Libsyn. The player used is displayed via an iframe. If you start a podcast, the player used will be able to gather information about your visit.

In 2021, we will rebuild this so that Podcasts via Libsyn are handled in the same way as Google Maps and Youtube videos. If you want to restrict which services are running and which data is collected, you can choose to load your Podcast in another tab.

Web analytics and statistics

We save statistics on how visitors interact with our site. We use Matomo and we store all statistics on our own web servers. We also use Matomo Tag Manage to collect statistics for visits on our call pages.

Statistics from Matomo

Via Matomo, we save some information on IP addresses to see in which country and in which region our visitors are located. We only store half of the address to ensure anonymity. So a visit via 192.160.100.12 will be stored in Matomo as 192.160.xxx.xxx.

Matomo sets the cookies:

  • _pk_id to count the number of unique visits - this is removed after a year
  • _pk_ses to see what the visitor flow looks like - this is removed when the browser is closed

Google Analytics is being phased out

In 2021, we changed to Matomo and we therefore do not use Google Analytics for those who choose the default setting in their cookie and privacy settings. For the extremely few users who actively turn on all services in their privacy settings, Google Analytics will be used until the autumn of 2021.

We have turned off so that the IP address is not sent during the call to Google.

Google sets these cookies:

  • _ga, ajs_anonymous_id
  • _gid

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager (GTM) is enabled only for the extremely few visitors who have actively chosen to allow all services on the site. Via GTM, we're able to use temporary services from time to time, such as survey services.

During a transition period, we have a separate container based on Google Tag Manager. In 2021, we will remove GTM for those who have chosen default settings for cookies and services.
