Our activities in Brussels
The joint office of Vinnova and the Swedish Research Council in Brussels goes by the name 'Sweden's Research and Innovation Office in Brussels', SWERI. The office has a large network. Today, the impact is mainly through personal contacts and it is therefore important and useful to be in place. We help you with contacts to various research players operating in Brussels, and to find the right within the EU institutions.
We strengthen Swedish innovation
We want to strengthen Swedish research and innovation by acting as a link from Sweden to the EU and its institutions, and to promote the interests of Swedish actors in the European research and innovation programs. We do this by following and analyzing developments in European research and innovation. We also participate in and organize conferences, seminars and meetings in the area.
The office is a member of IGLO, an informal network consisting of 26 European countries research and innovation offices in Brussels. På IGLO's website allows you to search for partners for research projects. (See link below).
Contact and visit
You are welcome to contact us with your questions. It is also possible to book a meeting in the office to talk about the EU's research and innovation programs and policy issues. If available, you can also borrow a seat to work - WiFi is available in the premises. Please contact Sanna Sjöblom in advance.
Find us
We are located in Nordic House on Rue du Luxembourg 3, right next to the metro station Trône. Our premises are close to the European Commission's Directorate-General for research and Innovation, Svenska EU-representationen and the European Parliament.
From the airport there are a couple of different options for getting to the office.
Train: On weekdays, direct trains run from Brussels Airport Zaventem to Bruxelles Luxembourg station, which is a 10-minute walk to the office.
You can buy vending tickets at the airport or online.
You can also take a train to Gare Centrale and from there either walk 15 minutes to the office (see map) or take bus no 38 to the Trône / Troon stop.
På Belgian Rails web site you will find information on tickets and departures.
Bus: No 12 (no. 21 weekends and evenings) goes directly from the airport to Place Luxembourg (5 min walking distance).
Taxi: From the airport to the Brussels office, taxi costs around 50 €. Before getting into the car, make sure the taxi driver accepts card payment as this is not standard.
