Innovation cooperation between Sweden and Israel

With our activities in Israel, we want to form a bridge between the Swedish and Israeli innovation system and create contacts based on the needs of the business community. The goal is both increased learning and to strengthen research, innovation and business collaborations between Sweden and Israel.

We work to create interest in Sweden as an innovation country in Israel, as well as to create interest in Israel as an innovation country in Sweden. We help Swedish actors to find relevant contacts in Israel, and Israeli actors to find relevant contacts in Sweden. We organize trips, meetings and other activities for inspiration, learning and match-making. As far as possible, we also support delegation trips and initiatives that we do not organize ourselves. The assignment is based on a government assignment.

Our networks

The work in Israel is very much based on personal contacts. Vinnova has access to several networks and collaborations that you can take advantage of. We work together with, among others, Business Sweden, RISE, Sveriges Ambassad in Israel and Israels Ambassad in Sweden, to strengthen the ties between the countries.

Together with Business Sweden, we have launched the platform The Connector. There you can find partners for research, development and innovation in different thematic areas or in different industries. New activities are planned for 2022.

Together with the other Nordic countries, we are arranging the Nordic-Israeli Greentech Academy with the aim of increasing the growth of Nordic GreenTech companies. This by using best practice from Israel's many and innovative ecosystems. The next programme is on the theme of start-up development in rural areas.

Vinnova is also part of Innovation Without Borders, a non-profit network for international innovation councils based in Israel. The network provides opportunities for cooperation with other countries.
