In collaboration with, among others, the Greater Stockholm Diabetes Association and three regions, Vinnova is conducting an innovation competition to develop new solutions linked to diabetes.
To develop new solutions, health data from people with diabetes are needed. We therefore need help from you who live with type 1 diabetes to become a data donor. Like donating blood, data donation is a way to share what belongs to yourself and at the same time contribute to something important.
Innovation with health data linked to diabetes
The competition invites companies and other developers to take part in health data and data from patient records to develop digital services. It can be about services that can be used by people with diabetes or by their relatives, but also about solutions that are useful in health care.
An overall aim of the investment is also to develop solutions so that health data can be shared and used in a secure way, as this type of sensitive data is often locked in different systems. This increases the opportunities to create better and more individualized care in the future.
Become a data donor
Being a data donor means that you upload data from blood glucose meters or other equipment that you use to a competition platform created within the project. You can also accept that your record data is shared from care providers to the competition platform. In order for you to have control over your data when you share it, there is a function for consent. This means that you decide who gets access to your data and what it is to be used for.
As a data donor, you also get the opportunity to participate in seminars and workshops and be part of a context where opportunities and challenges with health data are discussed.
If you are interested in becoming a data donor, register as soon as possible. On December 9 at 17-19 a workshop is arranged where data donors receive practical help to share data in the platform developed for the innovation competition. For more information, contact Richard Hellborg at Vinnova.
